Life Updates

There is a lot of great updates this week with the website. I officially have launched my shop to sell some of my pictures as prints. Please feel free to take a look at it and hope you enjoy the options available. New pictures will be available in the shop as my weekly blogs come out. Please if there are any pictures that are not in the shop that you’d be interested in getting let me know so I can have that arranged for you. A few more things about it is that shipping prices are already included in the total picture amount so when you go to check out it will show $0.00 as shipping due to like I mentioned it is already included in the picture price. Also, it is an economy shipping meaning it will take between 7-10 days for delivery. Please keep in mind that currently shipping is only available to the US and Canada. After taking a look at my shop if any of the pictures interest you then please consider supporting my small business as this helps me be able to be a freelancer photographer and continue this photography journey I love so much. Thank you again for the support I greatly appreciated!

Let me give you a small update on an incident that happened Saturday November 18th. I decided to travel to a park in Harper’s Ferry, WV. Upon arrival to the park and the completion of setting up the camera I started my hike. Within 10 to 15 minutes of the hike I saw a beautiful waterfall that I wanted to take a picture of. Seeing how the composition of the photo would not look so great from the path that I was on I had made the decision to get on a rock that was off the path to get a different angle of the waterfall. As I got on to the rock unfortunately I did not noticed that it was very slippery and I started to slide and I noticed that it was going towards another rock that was bigger and pointy. In my mind I had issues making a decision of what to do and when I finally decided I made the decision to throw my camera out of the way and in doing so within seconds of letting it go I impacted with the rock really hard. I hit the pointy part of the rock with my chest and left side of my body impacted the floor. After the impact I decided to get back up but in doing so I noticed that the hit really took my breath away. I needed to regain my strength and breath to which it took a couple minutes to do so. After that I went to pick up my camera and gear from the ground. If it wasn’t for my sister who pointed it out I wouldn’t have known that the camera was broken. The screen was shattered and it would not turn on at all. Thankfully my newly purchased lens was unharmed. My apple watch screen protector was shattered too which made me realize that I really did hit hard because as my body cooled off the pain started to get worse by the minute.

After the incident I decided to travel back home because I was so upset with what had just happened. After arriving home and talking with my wife and sister the decision was made for me to go to urgent care to make sure no internal damage was done. My wife and I waited about 4 hours which included initial visit, x-ray and results/discharge. We were notified that nothing was visible in the x-ray but that if the pain persisted and noticed any bruising then another visit to urgent care would be needed. Based on this incident I will be taking short break from taking pictures and traveling to recover but also to save and see what camera I would like to purchase to continue my photography. Thankfully, I have enough saved pictures that I will be releasing little by little during my break so I do not miss a blog update the next couple days or weeks depending on how the recovery goes. I appreciate everyone for understanding of this little change for now and I hope you enjoy the pictures that come along within the next blog updates. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
