Hello everyone,

It feels like it’s been a long weekend. I been recovering from what I was feeling i’m still not quite sure what it was. I feel a bit better now I am still dealing with a horrible headache. I have been exploring a lot of DC as of late. Unfortunately this week I haven’t been able to go but I have a lot of pictures saved up that I been wanting to share with you all. As I been exploring and photographing DC ive come across a lot of war memorials. Being there in itself is such an experience from the names written on the walls to the statues depicting brave souls who gave their life for this country. It makes you appreciate life more and makes you realize just how good we have it. With tensions going on in the world though we might be on the verge of another world war 3. Its memorials like this that make you reflect on how dangerous wars are for us. A week ago I got up at 4am to head to the metro station to catch the 5am train. I was already feeling a bit off not quite sure what was wrong but I got there on time. I got off at the Smithsonian metro station and began to walk towards the national mall. My goal on this day was to head to the Jefferson memorial and photograph it as I have never been there before. This was suppose to be my main highlight of the day but something caught my attention on my way there. I was riding an electric scooter to get around faster and take advantage of golden hour. I turn my scooter around and it was here that I saw the World War II memorial. It caught my attention so much that after I photograph it I stood still for a couple of minutes reading the names on the wall and paying my respects. Ive lost a couple love ones throughout the years some of which I was never able to say goodbye too. Being here in this memorial made me feel close to them a bit. I started to head towards the Jefferson memorial but i’m not going to lie this memorial was on my mind. Once I finish visiting the Jefferson memorial I made my way back and went back to that WWII memorial.

One thing I love about photography and the reason why I started all this is the ability to tell stories, freeze time and make memories. Is not just about the photo is the story that goes with it that makes it truly special. In this blogs I have tried to always share those stories and share a little about myself. For me is not just about pulling out my camera and capturing a single moment. For me I like moments to present themself to me just so I can show the raw beauty that this world had to offer. Is in this moments where I create memories of my adventures. I like to listen to podcast and canon recently started their own. I truly suggest listening to it is called canon unscripted and they have industry professionals and there is always something to learn from them. On there first episode they had Peter Hurley an absolute genius when it comes to portrait photography. During his podcast he said something that caught my attention. He said to make sure you photograph your loved ones whenever you get a chance. He said he never had a chance to photograph his mom and unfortunately when she pass he didn’t have a good portrait of her. I have taken those words to heart and ive actually began photographing my family any chance I get. To capture a moment or simply just to have a memory the power photography has is unreal. I hope to keep sharing stunning photos with you all and hope to soon bring you along with me to my adventures. I am still trying to get back to the rhythm of things so I promise next weeks will be a but longer. Until next time I hope you all have a great week.
