UEFA Euro 2024
Hello Everyone,
If you read my blog on Friday you would have seen that I am excited for the Euro and Copa America. So because I am so excited for this tournaments I thought I would do a group and team breakdown as I follow this team closely. I will be giving you my predictions on who would win it all. I hope y’all enjoy as I love talking football. Also, this are my opinion don’t get angry if I criticize your team this is just for fun.
Starting with Group A which has Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland. As you may know Germany is hosting this year will this play a big advantage for them? While home field advantage will help I do believe there is a few issues with this team. I think there is some amazing players on this team for sure from Neuer, Kimmich, Gundogan and Toni Kroos to name a few. This team has so much depth but I think they lack team play. After winning the World Cup in 2014 I feel like they been on a downward spiral. Could this be the year they pick it back up? I think the home field advantage will have a big impact I definitely got them getting out of this group. Switzerland use to be a great team but I think this team is pass is prime. This team is either a hit or miss but I think going into this tournament they are in there worst form in recent years. Scotland is another team that’s been in awful form they are one of those teams that don’t excite me when watching them play I do not have them making it out of this group. Congratulations to them for making it to this tournament though. Now let’s talk about this Hungarian team and how good they been. There last defeat was back in September of 2022. There most recent lost came on June 4 of this year in a friendly match against Ireland. They have defeated top teams like Germany, England and even Italy. They have been proving that they belong in this competition and is one of the teams I am most excited to see. They have a very good squad and have them making it out of this group. I actually have them toping this group over Germany. This is how I have this teams finishing off 1. Hungary 2. Germany 3. Switzerland 4. Scotland. Germany and Hungary can change depending on there first match this is the only 2 teams I see changing but the other 2 will definitely end 3rd and 4th.
In group B we have Spain, Croatia, Italy and ALbania. This Albanian side is one of the best we have seen in recent years. I definitely think this is a group of death because any one can get though it all depends on how they start this tournament. Italy is the reigning champions and I definitely think they will have a great showing here. They have a great team but I see gaps on this team that I believe will cost them a lot. Spain also has a great team but Spain is such a weird team to predict. While the talent is there I don’t think they show up to major tournaments. Croatia is always a dark horse there team plays with passion and I think they will surprise here as well. This is a hard group to predict but here is my prediction. 1. Croatia 2. Spain 3. Italy 4. Albania. I think Croatia has shown time and time again the passion this country has for the game of football so they will make it out of this group maybe even on top of Spain. In group C we have Denmark, England, Serbia, and Slovenia. This group I think we all know who’s topping it of course England. This is England golden generation from the forwards, midfielders and backline is solid. The only weakness I see in England is that left back position as Luke Shaw is injured and the goalie. The rest of the teams however I am torn on who to put where as this Denmark team is so disappointing so is this Serbian team. I had so much hope for them in the World Cup on paper this teams should be giving teams like England a headache but they are not. Denmark in particular this team has quality players I am not sure why they aren’t performing to the level I know they should be. So here is how I have this group finishing 1. England 2. Denmark 3. Serbia 4. Slovenia. There’s not much I can say about Slovenia as I do not like watching this team play. I have Denmark second only because I do not think Serbia will even show up in this group such a let down team.
In group D we have Austria, France, Netherlands, and Poland. This group is another group that I think we all know who’s topping it and that is France. What can I say about this French team they are scary. This team is stacked if someone is injured another one is ready to take there place. If I was playing against them I would definitely be worried. I do not like there coach mostly because I think is unfair the amount of talent he has he really can’t fail. Poland is definitely the worse team in this group which is actually a major let down. They have good players but nothing to show for it. The big question mark in this group for me is Austria and Netherlands. Austria is in incredible form but have a couple injuries in there team however they play so well together that we are probably not even going to noticed it. They have proven that they can beat Netherlands is for this reason that I believe they will go far in this tournament don't count them out. Netherlands has a good team as well. They have one of the strongest back line in world football but with that being said they concede more goals then any other team I seen. So because of that this is how I have this group finishing 1. France 2. Austria 3. Netherlands 4. Poland.
In group E we got Belgium, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. In group F we have Czechia, Georgia, Portugal, and Turkey. Let’s start with group E let me just tell you how I have them finishing and why. 1. Belgium 2. Romania 3. Ukraine 4. Slovakia. Belgium the clear leader of this group they have a very strong team the only weakness I see in this team is there defense. I feel like there’s not much pressure on this team however, so it might make them perform better. Romania and Ukraine are in incredible form and I really believe this 2 team positions can swap depending on how good of a start they do have. Ukraine is a team to watch this time around. I haven’t watched enough Slovakia game to really say how good they are but based on previous match results they have been very decent so i’m hoping i’m wrong about there placement but I don’t believe they will do much. Group F is a bit easier to predict 1. Portugal 2. Czechia 3. Turkey 4. Georgia. First, I would like to say Portugal team looks really good this is a must watch team this tournament as they have some world class players. They have one of the greatest of all time bringing his experience to this young team his iq in game is a plus for this team. Czechia has some great players as well so I definitely see them second. Georgia is probably the worst team in this group not saying they are bad but compare to other teams they are the weakest side in this tournament. I haven’t seen much of Turkey but based on what I have seen from previous results they don’t really look promising.
This will be a great tournament for sure. So who do I have in the final and finally lifting the trophy. Top 4 teams for me will be Portugal, Germany, France and England. I believe Portugal will vs England in the final. At the end of it I think the winner be England. I think this is a well rounded team just like England but I think France is a big hurdle they have to get through and I believe that if they can beat France they will win the whole tournament. I definitely think we will get some great games in the quarter final. Croatia could be a dark horse of this tournament but if they can find success very early on they will be going far. I am very optimistic about Germany based on there home field advantage but that could change mid way through the tournament.
