About Me Pt.1

Have you ever looked at a scenery or a picture of a place or thing and instantly been brought back in time? Whether it’s a specific moment in your life or a cherish memory. Ever since I started photography I have had the opportunity to explore and discover some beautiful scenery that this world has to offer. I am always amazed and dazzled by the beauty of nature. I takes me back to when i was a kid growing up in San Miguel, El Salvador. I can still remember those years vividly walking through the forest we had behind our home and finding mango trees and using my slingshot to get me a snack. It amazes me how well these memories have always stayed with me even through the years now I can barely remember what I did yesterday. Still remember those bad memories as well, losing my uncle and my brother wasn’t easy for me growing up. Then remembering that god bless me with a wonderful sister. Even though we grew up separately life brought us together years later and now we are working on making those memories we never made growing up together.

As life in my country began to grow more dangerous because of the gang violence that had began to take more innocent life’s away, my parents decided to come to America. I was 8 years old when I came to this country not knowing what to expect but was excited to see something new. The first year here wasn’t the best and to be honest i consider telling my mom to leave and go back home. But once my first year of school came around things started to seem a bit brighter. I started to heavily watch cartoons in English to get some practice speaking it, and within a year I was able to decently speak, and understand what people would tell me, granted that I still had a lot to learn the way I advance myself was by heavily focusing on myself. Since i was a kid I have had a difficulty focusing my mind is always on the run and is hard to stay on track. Learning has always been an issue so I always ask question just to make sure I am doing it ok. But once I know that I am doing it right I try to perfect it at least that’s how I have always been driven. Also, always been fairly quiet I have trouble processing information sometimes so I appreciate those that appreciate my randomness.

Growing up I rarely had adult supervision my father was not in the picture, and my mom was working 3 jobs. I spend most of my time outside or playing on a gamecube I had. I spend so much time cooped up that I enjoyed when I got to go out on trips, I would be glued to the window looking at life and enjoying every moment life has to offer. I always wanted to play a sport but would always noticed the amount of pain I was in the day after. The best way I can describe it, the pain was similar pain you will feel after your first day at the gym. Even now when I go on hikes I need at least a full day to recover. I left school after the second semester of freshman year to try to help out with money. After leaving school about 3 years later my wife and I moved in together. We been through so much together and she’s been one of my biggest supporters.

Back in 2018 I had lost the feeling on the left side of my face. And then I started losing the feeling on the left side of my body. I made an appointment with the doctor after doing an ECG on me he said I was having a Inferior MI what ever that meant. He sent me directly to the hospital not knowing exactly what was going on. After another ECG was ordered and came up normal they recommended I go with a heart specialist. Heart specialist said there was no abnormality observed. Towards, the end of 2018 we enrolled with Kaiser and after months of testing and doctors visits in March of 2019 I was diagnosed with MS. That day I remember that I cried and I felt if all my dreams went away. I was scared and because of my son I was unsure what that would mean for him.

Pt.2 next Tuesday, I am trying to get in a schedule posting my blogs. New pictures will be coming soon find out some fun facts about the journey behind the pictures.
