Rewind
I want to start by thanking everyone who has supported me this year and have shared my pictures to a colleague or a friend. This will be my last blog of the year. I want to take a small break to be with the family for the holidays. My birthday is also coming up and I am supposed to get my infusion later this week. I want to take this time to recover and comeback feeling better then ever.
There’s many wonderful shots I have captured this year but this one is definitely one of my favorites. Two years ago I decided to start learning photography but this year I have definitely taken it more seriously. All of last year I was struggling with people’s approval. I was always second guessing my pictures and thinking people wouldn’t like it. I started this year feeling the same way. I wasn’t liking the pictures I was capturing so I decided to make a small upgrade and got a new camera. Honestly, I bought it not knowing the impact it will have in my photography. My image quality definitely improved. It was a big change bigger than I had expected.
The picture in my second blog post was the first picture that got me excited to keep going. I entered a couple photography competitions while I have not won yet that pictured got top 100. The picture has a special place in my photography as it helped boost my confidence. I started exploring a lot of places around the city and started getting more and more beautiful captures. I have had so many beautiful captures this year but this one is definitely one of my favorites. Every time I go out and shoot I love the feeling I get once I see the final result. Photography has given me confidence and joy.
This year I have also met some wonderful people one of which inspired me to write. Growing up I always loved to write and express myself. I always wanted to make an impact on someone’s life and leave a legacy behind that can inspire people even when they are feeling down. I want to show people that even though I have MS I do not let it slow me down. I want to show how far you can get if you put the time and effort into everything you do in life. I still have plans to write a book to show my journey with MS since the very beginning until present. I also want my photography to show my artistic side and inspire new photographers to chase their dream. I owe a big thanks to that wonderful gentleman that showed me that sometimes all you need to do is just express yourself. He also made me feel a lot better about sharing my photography. He made me realize that it’s not people’s opinions I should be worried about at the end of the day. It is my vision and work that I have worked so hard for and that someone out there will like it as much as I do.
This year has been one of my best photography journey’s so far and I am so excited for 2024. I will keep striving to get more beautiful captures and sharing it with the world. I also want to keep sharing my journey with MS. I have plans to be more involved with the MS society this year and seeing if I could share my journey with them as well and get my name out there. I will be uploading new pictures to my portfolio until the end of the year so feel free to check them out. I am going back on pictures I took throughout the year and have not had the time to edit. I take several pictures every time I go and explore and I always have a favorite that I post and leave the rest for later. This picture I am sharing I took this week was actually a great surprise as it was taken the same day I took the picture of the red-shouldered hawk. As I started going through the pictures I saw this cute bird eating a berry. I have been learning so much about birds and I been so fascinated on how cute and hard working they are. Nature is beautiful and I am definitely excited to see what else I would find and capture. Again thank you for a great year and thank you for the support I really appreciate it.
