Happy New Year!

Hello Everyone,

I would like to start of with Happy New Year’s! I hope you had a wonderful time with friends and family. I really enjoyed 2023 and I hope you did as well. I got to meet some very great friends this year and my photography skills have become a lot sharper. I have really been enjoying going out, exploring and seeing how birds live and thrive in nature. On my last blog I shared my favorite photo of 2023. I continued shooting and on my birthday I decided to spend the morning going out and trying to capture an eagle. I have been tracking a pair of eagles that have a nest near by. I have made it my goal to capture a breathtaking picture of them. So, for my birthday all I wanted to do is go and try. I have been unsuccessful the past week but on this day I decided to try and capture any bird along the way. I am glad I did as I saw some very beautiful birds. Some of which I put in my first bird print collection.

I set out that morning because days prior I had found an eagle nest at Riverbend Park in Great Falls, VA. I ran into a nice gentleman who informed me that they had been spotted by Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, VA. I went to check it out and I saw the pair but the lighting wasn’t the best. It seemed perfect to comeback in the morning and try to capture them in good lighting. As I arrived in the morning they were no where to be seen. There was a bit of overcast so I felt like I had the perfect opportunity to look around. I captured some very cool birds overall it was a perfect day.

For New Year’s I went to see if I could find some more cool looking birds. I was surprise to find a young eagle flying around Burke Lake Park. I was unable to capture him in a good angle but I will keep trying and promise to bring a wonderful capture. This year I am making a couple goals. I want to complete and have a lot of projects that I am planning on doing this year. Capturing a good picture of an eagle is one.

I put my first collection of bird prints on the shop. I decided to update everything as I am releasing projects. I will only be releasing small collections for limited time. So if you have a favorite let me know and I may feature it on my next drop. I really work hard on this drop and I hope you are enjoying the picture as much as I am. As always I am very thankful for the support.

Let’s talk Film! When I started this photography journey I hoped to learn all and every type of photography options out there. Film in particular is one of my favorites. The colors and look of film is very unique and pleasing to look at. It challenges any photographer to get more in touch with camera settings and you really need to know how to meter the light. I want to thank one of my friends who gifted me a Pentax film camera. I will be focusing in mastering the camera the next couple weeks. I will be making a big project with film that I am super excited for so stay tune for that.

I am excited to share more beautiful captures with you all. I will be working really hard this year to complete the projects I have planned. I am also excited for what’s coming to the website with my bird prints. I hope this year is a wonderful like last year.
