Hello everyone,

It’s been awhile since I last wrote a blog, I’m feeling a little rusty. A lot has happen in the last couple months that have made it very difficult for me to consistently post on here. I recently switched jobs and now i’m working full time which leaves me with such little time to get anything done. I have been busy though despite all that. I am still going out to photograph and also work on video editing. I have improved quite a bit that I am enjoying the whole process. I am still shooting my 12 month of Great Falls project and let me just say what a surreal experience it’s been. As many of you know I have been coming here since I was a little kid. Since then I have been coming back every year just to admire this gorgeous waterfall. This year I wanted to set off a goal of capturing the changing of the seasons month by month. Let me just say in all my years coming here I had never seen Great Falls glow like it has for me this year.

If you live in the DMV area then you know this year we have received quite a large amount of rainfall. This has caused flooding and at times shut down certain roads around the area due to big puddles of water, down trees and even down power lines. It’s been actually quite scary but just to give you some context let me tell you a bit about my experience. I typically stay connected on forums or groups that update about places I visited to see if anything interested been going on around the area. Well in May, we got a really aggressive storm one of which brought what seem to be hurricane like conditions. It made the water rise so high that honestly it made it kind of scary to go out. The next day as I was scrolling through one of the forums I saw a picture titled how Great falls looked today and as you can see from the main picture of this blog Great falls was more full then I ever seen. I took my son to try to capture this as this is such a rare occurrence that we knew we had to capture it. the photos we captured are so surreal and it made me happy to see that Mother Nature wants her true power to be shown through my photos. June and July kept rain coming and Great Falls kept very full but nothing will beat what I experienced that day is one of my favorite moments of this year.

This year hasn’t been all happiness though, at the beginning of this month my brother in law had an accident and unfortunately he didn’t make it. It’s been a really tough time for my family and I. He meant so much to all of us all the help he gave us and all the advice will definitely be missed. Life if very fragile and that’s why we have to be thankful every day for being able to wake up get out of bed and be able to go out and live life. He was a very young man who was a huge fan of my photography and in his honor I promise to keep improving and making him proud. My photos will be a testament of the resilience he thought me. With hard work I can achieve anything when I get to my next life I want to be able to tell him “Hey, I made it.” I always tell my son if you get into a fight with someone you really love make sure you make it right before going to sleep because the people that really matter don’t deserve your anger. We are all humans we will fight but going to sleep angry with someone and having them depart this life for the next the guilt that will consume you will be much greater then simply saying “i’m sorry.”

That’s it for this week I wanted to keep it kind of brief please make sure you go check out my updated portfolios there are some stunning shots in there! Until next time, I hope everyone has a great week.
