Scott’s Run Nature Preserve

Woke up on a Monday morning to see cloudy conditions and a bit of fog in the air. Gathered my equipment and started looking to see which hiking trail I would attempt to complete today. I have been meaning to explore all of Great Falls National Park and all its hidden features.

Searched on their official website and immediately Scott’s Run Nature Preserve appeared. I started doing my research on the trail to see potential waterfalls and/or scenic spots. Saw a gorgeous waterfall on Google which immediately caught my attention. So, I entered the address on my GPS and headed on my way.

Once I arrived I got my equipment ready and headed on the hiking trail. Immediately I was met with beautiful scenic spots and a beautiful stream of water. I walked about 2 miles to find a stunning waterfall. Looked around to see if I could find any more scenery other than the waterfall to photograph. So I started brainstorming and looking around and ultimately decided to follow the stream of water in my path.

One of the best decisions I made that day. Not only did I get to see nature at its beauty but ended up capturing one of my favorite moments up to this point. Sometimes following your instincts pays off. At the moment of capturing the picture it didn’t look like much until I got home and began to import my pictures onto lightroom. Definitely one unique capture and one that shows the beauty in nature. Next time you are looking to hike look at your nearest trail you never know what kind of beautiful scenery you can find.
