12 Month of Great Falls
I apologize for the long wait — but here it is: the 12 Months of Great Falls project. It took a bit longer to get everything up on the website because I was finishing the video that accompanies this series, but it’s finally ready. Below I’ll go into details about how some of these shots came to be. Please check out the YouTube video that goes along with this project for the full visual story.
It’s been awhile.
It’s been a while since I last posted a blog update. I recently started a new job, and the workload has been quite hectic, but I feel like I’ve finally found my footing. Despite the busy schedule, I’ve continued photographing around the DMV area, capturing some stunning landscapes, wildlife, and street scenes. I highly recommend checking out my updated portfolio to see some of the latest shots I’ve taken.
On the personal front, these past few months have brought a lot of growth and changes. Balancing work and photography has been challenging but rewarding, and I’m excited to keep pushing creatively while maintaining a steady routine. Looking forward to sharing more stories and images soon. Thanks for following along!
12 Months of Great Falls!
Earlier this year, I visited Great Falls after our first snowstorm and captured a serene winter landscape. The scene ignited my imagination and led me to ponder how much this beautiful park transforms throughout the year.
Inspired by this thought, I made a resolution: I am determined to visit Great Falls every month, capturing a photograph that showcases the seasonal changes. From the vibrant colors of spring blooms to the lush greens of summer, the rich autumn hues, and the quiet stillness of winter, each month will tell a unique story of nature's evolution.
This project will not only allow me to document the beauty of Great Falls in different seasons but also deepen my appreciation for the subtleties of nature. I look forward to sharing this journey through my lens, reflecting on the fleeting moments that make each visit special.
Bucket Shot!
Discover how I turned a vision into reality by capturing the breathtaking sunrise over Great Falls, VA. This week's blog dives into the meticulous planning, challenges, and execution that led to achieving my bucket shot of the iconic waterfall.
Fear!
Fear has always been a silent companion on my photography journey, shaping the way I approach each shot and subject. Initially, it held me back, creating a barrier between my passion and my ability to express it. The fear of failure, of not measuring up to my own expectations or those of others, often kept me from picking up my camera. However, over time, I learned to confront this fear rather than allow it to define me.
Through each click of the shutter, I discovered that vulnerability can lead to growth. The images that once felt intimidating to capture became opportunities for exploration and self-discovery. Embracing fear has transformed my photography into a more authentic practice, allowing me to capture moments that resonate not only with me but with others as well. Each photograph tells a story not just of what was seen, but of the courage it took to create it.
